Title: Punk Rawk Music
Post by: Arox! on January 26, 2009, 07:47:37 AM
"Punk" music. Discuss.

I like Propagandhi, someone told me their newest CD is great and I am excited to hear it, after not really enjoying  the last one  (Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes).

I gave up on Propagandhi after they couldn't decide if they were together or broken up. Unless they're back to that dirty, angry "How to Clean Everything" sound, I can't imagine I'd dig it. I don't want to hear the new album until someone can reassure me that they haven't started adding guitar solos.

Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes was not their previous CD. Potemkin City Lomits is. They're both pretty subpar.

Less Talk More Rock is by far their best.

I don't listen to much punk anymore. The (International) Noise Conspiracy and Andrew Jackson Jihad. Those guys are still punk right?

Yeah, I illegally downloaded his entire discography. Man has a way with words and an acoustic guitar.

Luckily enough Fargo happens to have some promoters that're pro punk so we'd get a lot of bridge 9 band through the area. Although I'll have to promote the Twin Cities In Defense. Check out the song no war but star wars and the video on youtube shot in taco johns. Just great.

Lately I've been getting into Raft of Dead Monkeys lately. Really good stuff. Umm also Down We Go came through and they put on quite a good show.

we need to do more file sharing on these forums.

The only punk rock I listen to is The Clash, Social Distortion, and Talking Heads (if New Wave is close enough for you).

I don't think file sharing is necessary. If you like the stuff and can afford 8-$12, then buy it. It's much more fun to have hard copies anyway.

I don't listen to a lot of punk rock, but my friend has recently gotten me into Alkaline Trio.

I don't consider the Talking Heads to be punk rock. I do, however, consider them to be the best band ever.
