I'm pretty sure you can block your caller ID. And it's not like the admin blocked Skype from calling in. SKYPE BLOCKED THE NUMBER FROM THEIR SERVICE! Every effort has been made by those of us who frequent that bridge to remedy that situation but it has all been to no avail.
There's no log kept. If you call in straight without blocking your CID it will show up in the mod panel but it will not be kept or used against you. If you're flooding and being a douchebag you will be muted and or kicked.

except there's numerous examples of where this HAS been used against forum members. there's a reason rbcp switched from that old bridge number. also, it doesn't capture CID, it captures ANI. blocking CID won't help.

I guess we don't have a bridge then. Or you guys don't anyways. I've NEVER had a problem on that bridge so I'll keep using it. Maybe you guys can use Telephreak or something.

I was a random, unsuspecting PLA kid when I first started calling in there. I may have been unliked initially but that was do to my posting persona here. Not because I was from here. I know you guys don't like those of us that hang out on that bridge but all politics aside it is a good bridge. I think it's unfair of you to try and scare everyone else off from it because you don't like the people there and because of a simple misunderstanding that happened with RBCP. That misunderstanding was explained but I guess that wasn't good enough. Anyhow, do what you guys want, I'll not be frightened off by spooky threats of evil mods and I would suggest to the other users that they aren't either.

hey i have nothing against the overwhelming majority of you that talk there. have at it, nod.
but when there's a large group of people on our forums that are complaining about what happens after they didn't conceal their ANI, i think there's cause for concern. we're not scaring any one away, we're just being honest (since the bridge mod doesn't want to be).

look, i don't know what the problem is, you can call the bridge yourself all you want. so can whoever else. but full disclosure is a fair thing. it's an ANI trap, and people have complained. many of the bridge-goers on the bridge hold a silly grudge against rbcp for whatever reason and try to harass him occasionally, and this may or may not be related to the other people who have complained about them.
I'm glad you haven't had a problem with it. why is it so absurd to point out this other stuff?

Have a ball. There are TONS of free services out there that provide conferences at no cost. Hence, free services.
CactusConf was a conference that I set up with www.freeconferencepro.com/ and then gave all the information to Arby. He agreed that it was a great service as there were a TON of cool options. He didn't like it at the same time though because it showed ANI in the admin panel and because I had access to said Admin panel. I think me having access was his main problem though. He mentioned it a few times even. Why he didn't just change the password and not tell me what it was is beyond me. So in short, CactusConf (Named because the acces code was CACTUS) was the awesome conference that never was but should have been because it would have been AWESOME.
I might just set up another one just for shits and giggles.

By the way, I'll get the bridge number changed to something soon. I wish Skype hadn't killed their voice chatroom feature. Those were the good 'ole days.

Fortunately, none of these people are any good at social engineering. Or anything for that matter. So as long as you don't call the 218 number with your real phone, you'll be fine. Just don't let them know that you're calling in with a pre-pay phone or softphone because then they'll get pissed off and ban you, like they did me. I'm not exactly sure what they want with the personal information of a bunch of 12 year olds, but knowing Harry, it's probably not good.

I will agree that she's not a worthless piece of shit like Harry is, and I don't really care if people have my info, but it's still annoying when you try to have a normal conversation with someone and it just feels like they are constantly insulting your intelligence and trying to take advantage of you. There's nothing really noble about spending all of your time trying to prove your l33tness to everyone else.

Maybe a SIP conference room would be a good idea? Internet users can get in for free with Gizmo Project, SIP/IAX users could as well with their boxes, phone users could get in through a SIP broker gateway number of which there are local numbers around the world and someone could put one in GOOG411 as has been done before if one isn't already in there. For example:
Gizmo users would dial 1-222-CACTUS (222887)
Users on something other than FWD would dial *747 1-222-CACTUS
Users on a landline or cell phone would dial a number from this list (http://www.sipbroker.com/sipbroker/action/pstnNumbers) then at the prompt dial *747 1-222-CACTUS #
Of course you could use anything you want after the 222. Just an idea.

I am so late, never heard of voice bridge. I used to love the talkee chat lines (http://areacodegoldmine.com/free-phone-chat-lines) however. I wonder if there's anyone on here that I know. I always see phonelosers in Google for years, but never bothered joining until recently I wanted more chats to call. I seen posts of people saying they used to set up conferences etc. which makes me think I know some of the people here. Ummm anyways just talking. :P
