USB stick Keylogger
« on: August 21, 2007, 01:58:31 PM »
Does anybody know of a program I can load onto a USB stick to make it into a hardware keylogger (preferably one of the sneaky ones that don't make an icon or anything, run off the drive itself)?

It wouldn't be a hardware keylogger, it would still be software....

Gangals: In one way it would be software, but I figured it would be hardware because there is a physical device sticking out of the target machine.

LordNod: They wouldn't in this particular situation, as the ports are all facing the wall where they will never be seen.

I think I know what you mean to do. Run the keylogger on the memory stick and also have it save the information there so you can just unplug it from the computer stick in your pocket and go. You'd probably be better of with a direct install that sent the information to a few untracable e-mail forwarding accounts. That way if it does get found you don't lose your thumbstick or whatever and it won't be as detectable. 'Cause if it's just sticking in the USB drive it's going to appear in Windows every time it's booted or they look in the My Computer Panel unless you could hide that the drive was being used.

Yeah I was thinking that it'd be cheaper to use a standard USB stick rather than a dedicated unit. Actually it'd be less traceable than a software install since all logins are recorded, while anybody can pop the stick in (My own mediocre attempt at humor has been highly amusing to myself.).

You can't pop the stick in and have it actually do anything unless you log in, though. Definitely go with a hardware unit.

There's instructions to build your own here: http://www.keelog.com/diy.html , although it'd be less effort to just go fish 50 bucks out of the mall fountain and buy one...

I made a nice keylogger out of a 32MB flash drive I snatched for .50 cents.

It has a professional keylogger app set to autorun, and once it's plugged in, automatically installs itself to a hidden location.

Then It will automatically send key reports every hour (you can set the time duration) to a POP3 Email account I set up.

Worked brilliantly, I also have a link to the app installer online, so say, I'm at one of those shop and stop kiosks where you apply for a job, Haxored. Then you can get info Like peoples SS and stuff,

It also worked at school to get teachers login passwords for the grading application.

Yes simply set the Flash drive as the install directory and run it from there. Thekeylogger's registry keys will still be located in Windows but the program files theirselves will be on the flash drive.

If the flash drive is not visible in the installation setup of the keylogger program then it does not support that feature.

PS. Zeke -- Keyloggers are not solely used for criminal purposes. Lots of people take advantage of them to view what is going on on their computer when they are not around which is 100% legal.
