If you have domain(website) of particular person then visit Ip-details.com .Here they provide domain host search just give the site name example:www.google.com then they display the information of site like IP address,country,ISP,Network,etc...

I just send the victim an email with a transparent png image embedded in the email.  Then you have their ip, browser, os, etc.. Assuming it hasn't been spoofed or viewed from a mobile device of some sort.  When it comes to IM clients, netstat or something similar is your friend.
