Old PLA email list archive
« on: January 21, 2009, 04:43:11 PM »
linear just sent me a link he found which is an archive of one of the PLA's old mailing lists (2002 - 2003), which was hosted on wearehope.com.  I have no idea who this is that's archiving it, but it's kind of fun to read through.  It was around during the same era as Cal's.

if only someone archived the original Yahoo Groups list or (even older) listserv list, that'd be awesome.

http://www.archive.org might be worth a chance.  If anyone knows a website that it was all stored at, there's a pretty good shot at finding it again.

Stupidly, I never even considered the possibility that archive.org would archive an email list.  But since it was all web-based too...

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pla_upl

There it is!  Only problem is the actual messages aren't archived.  But the lists of messages are.  Pretty much half the stuff you click will give you the "not in the archive" message.  Wow, Spessa used to post a lot.  I forgot all about that.

Seems like some of the messages are there.  Maybe every 20th one you click on.

Oh yeah, the list was on egroups.com before Yahoo.  Maybe it was topica before that.

Crazy fact of the day: The Phonelosers Yahoo list still exists, has 80 members and gets maybe 5 posts per year.
