RBCP is an ATT Example of Social Engineering

Exactly what the title says. I was recently hired to do tier 2 tech support for AT&T. In our training, we had to learn about social engineering and how to prevent it. First call example they played was Brad trying to get info from the agent...she totally gave it to him too.  It was jarring to hear his voice in a classroom like that :P

You're the 2nd person to tell me this.  Was it in some kind of training video or did they just play the single clip while they talked to a class?  Either way, I feel like AT&T owes me at least $100k in royalties.

Nope, no video. They played your call and another one from someone else pretending to be an att employee. The content was something about "your parents used to live there but they moved" the woman was just dishing out info without verifying your identity. She just happened to get a Quality Assurance check and was fired the same day the call was made.

Wow, now I feel like a jerk.  That particular ruse works fairly well with employees.
