I'm the T600R guy. I figured it out a few days ago. If anyone experiences like problems this will probably work on all windows comps.
1. press delete immediately at start-up
2. countinue pressing till you get to the settings screen.
3. go to boot
4. change default boot drive to ATAPI cd drive
5. you're good!

Forgive me, but what "problems" are you refering to that has anything to do with the discussions of this thread?

my friend is using a dell xps t600r, and there is no option during boot to enter system setup, or select boot drive. Is there some key combination thats not shown, is some kind of floppy disk or cd required, or is it just not supported all together. (You would think there would at least be a system setup though   )
Raptor's the one who started it.

Well if your trying to boot Linux from a cd and having problems that will probably fix it. I would definately say that has something to do with this discussion.

Okay, I was just curious because it was answered right after his post by gangals:

With a system that old it might not have an option to choose which media you would like to boot from while the computer POSTs. With Dells, for their BIOS try F1, F2, F10, F12, or DEL. When I don't know what the BIOS key is on a machine I'm working on, I just run my fingers back and forth over the F keys and the DEL button.

I thought perhaps you were responding to something I missed.

Yes, it needs to burned as a BOOTABLE.  Don't just burn the ISO as a file.

It's very similar to the way I burned PHLAK. Nero Burning ROM supports it I think,

When I boot up the Tank (T-600r sounds like a russian tank name), it shows the Dell logo, then some text and then just a commandline. What should I do?

try this:
cd /usr/src
wget http://ftp.digium.com/pub/asterisk/asterisk-1.2.14.tar.gz
tar xzvf asterisk-1.2.14.tar.gz
cd asterisk-1.2.14
./configure && make && make install

Slackware is an awesome distro to learn on.

I have an Astrisk PBX as well, except mine is running on an Ubuntu server.  If you don't want to bother with compiling, you can get this customized distro called AsteriskNOW.

I have Asterisk on a bunch of distro's. My current PBX is on FreeBSD. I downloaded the source and installed that since I know how to do that and figured might as well. Have I heard you on the voice bridge?
