Title: Finding the number of a "Private" caller?
Post by: Jersey on January 26, 2007, 03:34:25 PM
Hey, just got a random ass call that showed up as "Private" on my phone. I answered it only to hear "I love you"   , from a male's (sounded in the teens) voice. It was a weak "I love you", might I add for the record...
It wasn't any voice I recognized so I'd like to find out who the hell it was, or at least what number it was from then I could go from there.

So any help is appreciated.

and damn, I've been making a lot of post on this boring friday

just accept that you have a secret admirer.

also, there is a *(number-number) like *69 but it obviously isn't 69, it will log the call, and if you do it 3 times and it happens to be the same number all 3 times, in the same month they'll get a letter in the mail from the phone company.

i know, harsh.

Weak?  Like he was just saying it to get into your pants and he didn't really mean it?

That depends on what phone company you use. You have to set it up by subscribing to the service first too. With SBC it's CallTrace. You hit *57 after you get the call and then the phone company turns over the infoz to the cops. This apparently only works if the call originated in the local service area btw.

You could try to subscribe to a service like Privacy Manager that prevents Caller ID blocking. I loved that service. I wish Vonage had it. With this service people either need to unblock their numbers or fuck off. It was like $4.95 per month.

i'd rather take my chances and guess their voice than pay 4.95. I didn't even pay your mom that much, and I used a coupon.
