Title: Project Gizmo
Post by: Tachyon on February 10, 2007, 07:21:47 PM
I just tested out Gizmo and it kicks ass, the only bummer is that to buy minutes I had to use a credit card. Is the only way to get a number that can't be traced back to me to use one of those ripoff prepaid credit cards?

You could get a hundred dollar gift card and just pay six months ahead or whatever. Assuming that they'll take those kinds of cards. Some places will only take the card if it's from a major company and starts with a certain number, which I believe to be 5.

Yeah that's a good point, those cards are annoying because they've got fees for EVERYTHING. I was looking at one that had, in addition to the activation fee, useage fees, 100 buck fee to cover the money (duh), and a PURCHASE fee. For the privilege of BUYING the damn thing.

They do have gift card CCs that you can pick up from a bank or AAA. They only have a ~$4 fee for getting the card(they had different values of cards up to $500). But since there was no address linked to them, not all Internet retailers would take them...

If you consider A $6 fee for a $25 card, as opposed to, PRISON, then I guess you should learn the value of a fucking dollar.
