Are there any other midwesterners here?
nwbell, I know you're Minnesota, but I don't know about anyone else.
I'm thinking like, WI, MI, MN, IL, ND, SD, IA, MO.
Also, a general area of where you are is cool. So:
I'm in Wisconsin, in the Fox Valley area (about 2 1/2 hours from Chicago, an hour from Green Bay). GO!
-
I live eight hours away from Chicago, in Kansas City.
-
For serious? That's pretty cool. I didn't realize that you left the Village?
Are you here for school now?
-
When will you people learn, Ohio is in the midwest!

I'm here because I'm broke as all fuck, so its back with livin' at the 'ole homestead.
Also, Ohio east of Columbus is Mid-Atlantic to me.

And the Dakotas are the Great Plains.
-
foiled again.
Fine, so, in the WI, MI, MN, OH, MO, IL, or IA area.
-
Then I'm in south west Ohio.
-
Kansas is midwest.
-
Since everybody has their own definition of the Midwest, I'm gonna use Wikipedia's version:

Something Awful has something to say about the Midwest today as well, coincidentally.
-
What is the midwest in Europe, would that be like the Rheinland or something ???

I know Poland is the Mexico of Europe. You can figure everything out from there.
-
There is a German saying that goes : " You want to go to Poland on Holiday? Well your car is already there " ;D Yeah i guess Poland is the Mexico of Europe, But they have food there that doesn't give you diarrhea ;D

I'm from the 812 area of of Indiana
-
Dude, sorry, but I hate driving through Indiana, at least Gary. I remember stopping for the night once there on our way to N. Carolina, and the city just fucking reeks like death. Yeah, I said it. The city smells like corpses.

How many corpses have you smelt recently?? :-X
-
Trust me, I know what death smells like. It's remarkably like Gary in that just-evacuated-my bowels and the microbes have turned against me sort of way.
-
Is there a paper mill in Gary?
-
Is there a paper mill in Gary?
You have to be kidding. Gary is all about steel, man.
-
You're right. It's completely uncommon for cities with economies that are mill-driven to have more than just one. How stupid of me.
I ask because a paper mill makes that kind of stink that Matt was talking about. Steel mills make a funky smell, but nowhere near as bad as paper. Just look at Palatka.
-
I'm pretty sure Gary has both. It may be a big place for steel, but the fact is that it's an almost entirely industrial city. I'm familiar with paper mill smells. Kimberly-Clark, Georgia Pacific, Menashacorp, and Appleton Paper all have production plants within an hour or two of me. There's a reason Oshkosh has the moniker Sawdust City.

I live about an hour away from St.Louis incase anyone cares.

No one does.

No one does.
Gangals!!!! You know no-one should be hyphenated.
-
I hyphenate for no one!
-
I hyphenate for no one!
You get a leet for that.
-
Terre Haute smells like that too. I'm from the Southern-most (Southern-most is hyphenated right?) section of Indiana. Where there's nothing but fields and farms. Indianapolis is as far north as I've been in Indiana.
-
So does all of Indiana just smell horrible? Where is this awful smell coming from?
-
The South Western portion has pretty clean air. The only foul smells are when you drive by animal farms (Not the communist one, just raising animals.) and such. The rest is green acres and open skies. I miss the country.
-
I live an hour north of chicago
-
I live in Ottawa, IL. Currently I reside in Prescott, AZ.
-
Prescott. Haha. Been there many times.

there is almost nothing to do here...almost.

Granite Mountain FTW.
-

That would be the Hoosiers.
-
Replying to Matt's question, I live in Lake County.
-
nwbell, I know you're Minnesota, but I don't know about anyone else.
Wow, I just kinda disappear for a month or two, and yet people still remember me? I'm touched (or is that just murd0c sneaking up behind me again?)
Minnesota FTW! And 'Sconnie for fireworks and bars that are open Sundays!
-
Is it cold for anyone else?
It's right now 23°F and snowing AND IT'S APRIL >:(
-
Over here it's fuckin strange too, It,s Like 35°C and it's too hot to go out. :-X
-
Barely got above freezing today, and there's snow on the ground. Happy Easter indeed.
320.679.5050, option 3 - bank in a nearby town's time and temp. @($#@^&%* IT'S COLD AROUND HERE.
-
DAMN ILLINOIS BASTARD! Just kidding. I'll save the jokes for the Kentuckiens. You heard about the one that was swimming across the Ohio to get to Indiana right? He got tired halfway through and turned back.
-
You know why the birds fly upside down over Illinois?
Because it's not worth shitting on!
(Sorry Arbie!)
-
It's sort of warm here in the Rockies. A bit chillier compared to Indiana weather this time of year but it's not intolerable.
