How does one go about setting up a PLA-style voice bridge?

Are you asking how I did it?  Or how you'd actually set one up for yourself?  I just picked some free conference line and told people to call extension PLA.  You could use the same number that I do and tell people to call a different extension.

To set up your own, you need Linux and asterisk (http://www.asterisk.org).

Ohhh I see. So it's basically like IRC but with phones then (connecting to a channel that is). Sorry for bugging you with a dumb question but my brain isn't working very well right now and I forgot to google first.

I have opened up a line at 641-678-3400, extension ACT (228).  I will follow the same hours as PLA bridge, and I am willing to serve as an overflow/backup to PLA.
