Title: Vocal Removal Software
Post by: Tachyon on March 24, 2007, 09:36:52 PM
Does anyone know of a program that can remove vocals from an audio track (maybe MattGSX?). I need something to remove vocals from songs so I can replace them with lyrics read out by my friendly neighborhood TTY operators.

What I always used to use for that was the Nero Audio editor. Generally, on a mixdown, vocals will be the only track that is equal left/right chan, which means that an audio editor can isolate them and remove them. Otherwise, look online for karaoke software.

Another option is searching bittorrent and Limewire for karaoke or instrumental tracks.  There's a lot of stuff out there that's already done.
