Title: My boss at work....
Post by: kelsokid18 on April 30, 2007, 03:34:17 PM
I was with my boss when he picked up his phone.  He was calling his wife to discuss something.  I noticed that when he dialed...he called a 0-700 number!  WTF, was he conferencing his house?

Whilst those numbers are used for conferencing, I think they are also numbers used to follow the individual as opposed to having a number assigned by geographic location.

I didn't think of that one...all I thought was "Alliance?"

Someone I know has a 0-700-XXX-XXXX number for their cell. They are with a small carrier. I asked them once why they had such a number, and they said they weren't sure. Most other fones from that carrier have standard NPA-NXX-XXXX numbers.

Dark Tangent used to have 0-700-TANGENT to follow him around and for Defcon info.  Not sure if that's still used today.  Seems like follow me numbers would be kind of pointless these days since everyone has a cell phone now.
