This weekend my telephone headset started having an unacceptable amount of static in it. I discovered that this static was caused by a small nick in the wire. So today I fixed the problem with a couple of paperclips and some scotch tape, as you can see in the picture below. Had I not had the paperclips, I would have had to spend at least another $30 for a new telephone headset.

Paperclips...is there anything they can't do??

A certain pair of my headphones have a bit of static but the nick seems to be near the jack itself, I'm not sure. Scotch not Electrical?
