On Off the Hook last night, this number was discussed and played on the show:
+1 (877) 706-2042
I have no idea what it is for, but the attached MP3 demonstrates what the number gives off. However, the DTMF tones that it plays at the end are muffled for whatever reason--they come out fine on my land line and mobile phone.
Supposedly this is some sort of diagnostic number?
It used to belong to some womens' clothing company, and you could use this number to verify a gift card of some sort, but the company has since gone bankrupt.

Sorry about the chart formatting - try using a monospace font. Also, I apologize for the multiple posts, but I really wanted to share all the recordings.

Observations
---------
Following the first number, ten digits are read off - a phone number perhaps? (711-405-1489) If so, the area code would be 711, unless the number is somehow obfuscated. The area code 711 seems to be associated with the Telecommunications Relay Services.
Using a simple DTMF decoder circuit, a tone dialer, and the two things on either side of my head, I was able to decode the DTMF tones, as shown above. While it is true that the numbers read off are contained in this long string of tones, one can also see that there is an additional two digit number and a 4 digit number as well. Pounds occur in these tones, which seem to be some sort of field separator.

What type of decoder are you using?

Attached is the schematic for the DTMF decoder. It's pretty simple to build, however, when you're dealing with rapid-paced tones, you need to step through them one by one in Audacity or some other sound editor. I think I'll make something a bit nicer using a PIC microcontroller sometime - it'd be nice to play back audio into a device, fetching the decoded data through the serial port or something.

I-baLL calls these 7-11 numbers and talks about them a bit here: http://www.binrev.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11638&hl
