A man who'd apparently had it up to here with his cell-phone carrier got in an armored personnel carrier and rammed six cell phone towers. He was arrested on the way to a seventh.
Since this went down in Sydney, Australia, you can rule out lousy AT&T reception on an iPhone as the cause, ditto for being "fired" by Sprint. Still, we certainly how how this poor bastard feels. Whatever particular moment of customer-service frustration triggered it, the damage was pretty massive, according to cops:
"He continued to destroy mobile tower communications sheds by crashing through the perimeter fence and colliding with structures, causing significant damage."
The guy was charged with "malicious damage, break and enter, predatory driving and driving in a dangerous manner." There's nothing about theft of government propertyâ€â€Âcould the tank actually belong to him?

Why can't cool stuff like this happen in America?

What I want to know is how did they finally arrest him? Did they put a really big tank in front of his and say "That's not a tank, THIS IS A TANK!"? I understand that's how most things are settled in Australia.

Oh and this has had happened in America. Except this guy got shot, because off the brilliant moves of the Men in Khaki.

I remember hearing about that one. Your embedded video doesn't work, so here's a link:

Everyone watch that! It's good stuff.

Anyone remember the guy in Colorado that built his own bullet proof car out of a Caterpiller by welding a shitload of steel onto it?

OMG! TREV IS AWESOME!
I almost want to use that quote in my sigline.

Haha this was televised quite abit here because not much happens in australia.
Basically the man was full of drugs while doing it and destroyed the mobile towers because he thought they were giving him brain cancer. While he was driving he kept stopping to take more drugs :D I am literally rolling around on the floor all crazy-like as I laugh.. The chase finally ended after 90 minutes because the engine stalled (it was a very old tank stolen from a collector or war stuff or something).

What does Australia use tanks for? Are there any adjacent territories to invade?
-
In theory they could move some of them over sea and air. I can't imagine them using them for full scale ground assaults though. They're most likely for civil defense.
