I am considering owning a MySpace, Facebook or both.
I have doubts though. I generally do not like MySpace and I tend to only would want one if I started a project.
I have heard from friends that Facebook is "better" but I know little about it. Plus reading about how much it has been hacked over the years does not make it better than MySpace IMO.
Help? ???

Personally, I hate both, It`s kinda like Syphilis vs. Gonorrhea.

it gives you updates of everything anyone does.

Dear Sidepocket,
I started out on Friendster, hated it, and moved to MySpace. I find that people 25+ tend to gravitate toward MySpace and the younger folks tend to really like facebook. I say, get accounts for both, not necessarily to DO anything with them, but they're great to have to look people up and spy on people you want to find more about. For example, the last 3 people we've hired at my company, all I had to do was search for their name, their email address was on their resume, and BOOM you find out what they're REALLY like. It was really eye opening.
Also, good to have both because usually people have one or the other. If you can't find the people you want on one, you're set by just logging into the other one. I've had guy friends come over and switch between the two showing me all the psycho chicks they've been dating. It's a really easy way to reference other people without having to dig out a photo album or emails.
So really, for the number of things that people sign up for these days since every website wants you to have a username and login (*coughcoughphonelosers.orgcough*), why not just sign up for both? They're both free, no one says you can't do a test drive.
Also, found a neat article comparing the two: http://media.www.technicianonline.com/media/storage/paper848/news/2006/12/07/Features/Myspace.Vs.Facebook-2526198.shtml
Lastly, PLA Radio and rbcp are on MySpace... isn't that convincing enough?
Happy Hunting!
Love,

This is one of the main reasons I hate Facebook and Myspace.

Hey, I'm on Facebook too!
While I completely understand everyone's hatred towards both of these services, they really are great things. I've gotten in touch with lots of family and friends from my past because of Myspace. It's nice to hear from old friends that you haven't talked to since grade school. And to have random people that you don't remember find you and say, "Hey remember me, we used to work together?" I love Myspace. You just have to look beyond the horrible ads, and all the emo users, and the really fucked up style sheets and themes. Once you can get past all that, Myspace is a great service. And it's free!
I'm sure Facebook is just as useful, but I just haven't spent nearly as much time on there.

I hate myspace just because the interface is terrible, and the ad's are even worse. There is aton of span and corporate crap that ends up there, as well as the 10 year olds of America.
Needless to say, I still have a Myspace account.
Facebook however, in my opinion is a lot better. The interface is clean, you can upload all the photos you want, and developers can make applications that run in your profile, that are really cool. Another great feature about facebook, is that if you have an interest, you can add it to your profile, and search for people in your area with the same interest. So I can easily find people into "Computers" "Phreaking" or "Sex with grapefruit."
Facebook is especially useful for those in High School or Collage, because you can "Join" that Network, and easily find and talk to everyone else who goes there.
Cons with facebook is that myspace is more well known, therefore more of your friends might be on it.
Hope this helps,
And RBCP, WILL YOU BE MY FACE BOOK FRIEND? :D
