Another grocery store bomb threat, this time in my town!
http://hsn.live.mediaspanonline.com/Todaystop/dillonswithphoto
I was at work when everything was occurring. I live in a small town. Nothing like this EVER has happened. You know they mentioned the culprit had visual access to the scene, I wonder if they were not accessing the security cameras at Dillions. I'm not sure if they are wireless or not.... There is also a bank in this grocery store. Maybe this was why they picked it?

Double posts make me grow a big rubbery one.

Well shoot me for my first mistake.

That sounds like a dandy way of preventing your second mistake to me.

True that. Unfortunately, no one ever follows my advice. Plus, I've thought about it. Two SEPERATE incidents deserve two SEPERATE posts. Anyway, I just edited the double post, so HA. :D

Today it happened again, this time at ALL three grocery stores and the Wal-Mart. FBI, Snipers, and K9 Unit's were everywhere. This town was a MESS today.

Sounds like a fun time. Do you have any links to articles or news footage of this? The one in your first post doesn't work.

My brother fixes diamonds for a living; one night two weeks ago someone left a large duffel bag out front with some electronic thing (?) sticking out of the top.
That morning the police had everything blocked off, cops posted all around the building; finally a bomb-squad hazmat-suit guy walks up, cuts a hole in the side of it (ya don't use the zipper)... and... holy shit, it's... a cooler full of beer. The electronic thing was some fan attached to the cooler.
Drunks? Terrorists? Anyway nobody made any phone threats + it stayed out of the news.
It's fucked up if all this shit is unrelated. Not that I care about WalMarts or Dillons but it's a definite case of phone abuse.
Kolko told the AP that the FBI was looking into whether calls were coming in from overseas. They are cooperating with local authorities in each city.

This is a wonderful bedtime story from the intensely messed up and simultaneously awesome mind of Kurt Saxon about terrorism.

They caught one of them.....
Weird, he was local! So I wonder if he was responsible for any of the others. Maybe he was just copying the incident after seeing it on the news.

I had a theory that high school students were doing all this after the real deal the day prior. It turns out my theory was almost right. Our town was a mes yesterday. I swear, it gets a bit more ghetto every day! Before these bomb threats we had a man take some people hostage at an apartment complex.
This town is full of rich old people. My co-workers and I were talking about what we would do if someone called our offices and threatened a bomb. Most of us would answer the phone and become argumentative, asking them to bring the bomb and their checkbook. Things you can expect to hear from a firm that deals with debt. :)
EDIT: Look, the POWER of *57! http://www.hutchnews.com/Todaystop/threats2007_08_29T22_06_57 :D

The reason why there's been many of these recently is because some people are gullible enough to fall for it.

They located some of the phone calls in Portugal. I wouldn't be surprised if some Nigerian scam artists where behind this.
There's really one born every minute :(

It's up to 17 states now.

Maybe this will all end up being a good thing in the end - our government will work with Nigeria and start cracking down on all this fraud that's been rampant for so many years now. It's fun to think of the scammed money as a stupid people tax, but really, it's gotta stop.

I think I would sever any and all communications to and from any person I know who fell for a Nigerian scam.
