Title: Shimming Master locks
Post by: rbcp on November 16, 2007, 08:28:00 AM
i-hacked.com has a pretty good tutorial on cutting up a beer can to make a shim that can open Master padlocks.

Has anyone got this to work? I was going to make some with an Arizona sweet tea can but then I got lazy.

That's not what I'm asking. I know Someone has done it, what I want to know is has someone on this board done it. To ask how many open locks can you get from one shim, how hard was it to shim for the first time.

The reason I ask, is bump keys. It's not as easy as it looks on the internet.

Shh. Don't sass the Yauch. I heard he once ate a mans liver with some fava beans and a nice chiante.

That video is me doing it. It's very easy to do, but a cheap beer can shim is only good for about 1 or 2 uses before it breaks. I made some out of tin rather than aluminum and they last much longer.

Not to chastise you but you probably should have included that in your post. It would have been much more helpfull that way.
