Title: motel six guest lists
Post by: nova on January 18, 2008, 01:26:53 PM
I was wondering what would be the punishment if you got a random motel six to fax you a guest list and you started harrasing the guests with it? Would the cops bust down your door and arrest you or would they laugh at the motel six and say it was their own damn fault that they got tricked or most importantly, would I get into any kind of trouble for doing this?

you know corp/security said that technically it not harassment if you call only once. so in theory if you call everyone on the list once you should be okay. but if you do other shit durning the call then i guess it's up in the air...

Well, I set up a K7 Account through a proxy with Emails that I set up through a proxy, and access it with a proxy.

If you don't cause too much panic (I.e. No bombs) I doubt authorities will ever get involved.

Or those retarded people working there will never even make a connection between the fax and the hax.

To get the hotel to fax you the guest list, you'd either have to  A) find a very gullible employee and/or B) Impersonate a motel 6 or an authority agent.
Having them fax you the list isn't illegal. If you impersonated someone else to do so, and the police got involved, they might tack on some fraud charges. If you pretended to be an authority figure to have them do it, then I'm pretty sure it could be a felony, and the proper authorities WOULD get involved in that case.
It's much more fun just to call guests WHILE they're at the hotel and impersonate the front desk, causing them to flip out while still at the hotel.

I've actually had hotels give out my information several times, which leads me to believe that hotel employees don't understand the meaning of sensitive information.

Instead of dealing with all the head ache with the proxies. Just use your neighbors wifi.

Then, when you finish, reset all the passwords and encrypt it to make it YOUR wi-fi network.

Okay, not really. But you know it could be fun.

That sucks. Sounds to me like you're going to have to burn his house down, then.

I'm usually careful... I have it in the case during most of the actual "running"

But I've printed some stuff out on unsecured printers on my street... Someone thought it was Y2K8 Computer Malfunction

Speaking of which...Y2K38- The year UNIX/POSIX runs out...

Wow, faxing the guest list...I love that idea!  I'm definitely going to have to do this.  That sure would make pranking them more efficient since you wouldn't have to waste time calling empty rooms.

Sounds like a wicked Idea

I have a VOIP line so all my long distance in North America is free.

I should seriously tr that out on a few hotels here in Canada and see what I can generate.

That, and the fact that it would have their names on the guestlist which would make them think that since you know their name, you must be from the front desk.
