So I just got another new computer for use at work. It's a Dell Latitude D600 (it was free, befoar I get made fun of) with the internal wi-fi adapter removed (I'm assuming so it could be resold).
I ran out of wi-fi adapters, though. I want to run either Mepis or Ubuntu on it, but I need a supported card. I'm getting sick of all my compatibility issues with dongles, so I was thinking a PC slot card.
Does anyone have a wireless card that worked "out of the box" with their distro?

what will you be using it for? just attaching to AP's? or hacking?
If the first suggestion applies, then mostly any PC card should work. What you do is find some at a store that has a nice return policy and simply test drive them until you get one. (like ethermine does)
If the second suggestion applies, try an apple airport card they work with madwifi-ng because of the sexy Athero's chips.
Also, Broadcom, sucks but works for just attaching and surfing and sharing, cards work with ubuntu out of the box.
