Is there anyway I can get music off a mac formated iPod? I'd have to restore it to format it and that would lose all the music and be a nuisance for my friend who owns it. My computer doesn't even show it. so that's out. Any suggestions?

This is the only thing i can find...sorry: http://www.mediafour.com/products/xplay/

Yeah for some reason that doesn't even want to install
I found this program called tranmac, but i can figure out how to get to the music files

I ended up using transmac (trial version), its interface is pretty bare bones, but it worked and that was really what I wanted. I dragged and dropped the music folder from my iPod and made a right mess of my desktop. Initial I was worried I'd have to name all the files as they were named things like FWDG and like things, so I put one folder into iTunes and it had all the data. All and all it took several hours, between getting the files, putting the files on iTunes and then consolidating my library and had the un/fourtunate side effect of giving me 50 gbs of music total and a nearly full harddrive. So now I'm cleaning up my harddrive and just doing some basic housekeeping. Thank you Transmac. Thransmac.

This will piss someone off somewhere im sure, but, i just watched Revolution OS again, and saw this thread as an opportunity to vent. Yeah, you can do that in Linux. GTKpod is the iTunes for Linux and it's not restricted like iTunes at all. I used to have to use a program called copypod which was a trial version piece of shit with windows, but now in GTKpod i can not only put music on my ipod, sort it out much easier, but i can drag files from the ipod and drop them wherever i want on my HDD. :) If your Ipod is formatted as Apples hpfs+ er whatever it is, you have to plug it into your disgusting Apple computer and do from Terminal.app (you know the fake version of xterm) "sudo diskutil disableJournal /Volumes/<ipods name>" then set the path in Linux in gtkpod's settings. (you should also run gtkpod as sudo, or root unless you just change the ipods fs perms) i hate Apple, i think they are money grubbing bastards that made some pretty awful things. If i want a touch screen device that plays music, i will stuck with my DS Lite. heh, remember those computer Apple made that were just a CRT? G3's i think they were, what a fucking joke. CRT's go bad before ANYTHING else. That somehow goes WAY beyond anything analogous to the Unix Philosophy (captive applications) and now, they are trying to use Unix.... fuck Apple. buy a nintendo DS Lite and an M3 man. Sorry for the rant, i've had too many bad Apple experiences. >:(

Trev's next video will be of him smashing any Apple products he still has in his house. I'm going to predict the future here and say it will be awesome.

heh, thats not including the macbook and a few more ipods and shit laying around here .. those i could smash up.
Naw, but the g5 oct core computers are quite nice i bet i just think that if i were to drop $2,000+ into a computer
i would at least get something like this:
http://tinyurl.com/224ty9
because it and i would have beautiful children together....
-
those would be some interesting children...although if you found a way to reproduce with computers, the human race would be far more awesome. keep us posted on that. ;)

Hey if you're just going to throw that all away I might take the iPod and various other things :)

Does it float?

Does it float?
Oh it floats. They all float down here. They ALL float.

Provided their buoyancy is equal to or greater than that of water!
