Hi, I just got into prank calling, and I really would like to do it from my computer.
Here are some of my questions?
1.) What programs do you guys use to do it? My friend has one that gives him everything for free, and this is what I would like.
2.) Whenever I speak in a Ventrilo or TeamSpeak chats my mic starts rebounding off of my speakers(basically repeats and doesn't stop until I unplug mic.) How should I fix this?(My computer is a Toshiba Satellite L35-S2151 laptop).
If you aren't going to answer because you think this will be my only post, then don't worry because I plan on getting active here.

Whatever you do, don't ask him for it. You're much better off asking random people on the internet instead.

Headphones will eliminate feedback. Either that or put the microphone inside your mouth and don't open your mouth while you talk.

I am using headphones, I read something about it was the Sound Card I have which is some Realtek sound card :S

Thanks for the link, but that didn't work. I'm thinking about buying a USB headset, does anyone know if this will eliminate the feedback I'm getting. Also, I understood your sarcasm from the first post, but he doesn't usually respond when I ask him.

The feedback is most likely caused because someone or you yourself has selected mixer for windows recording device. When you say something in the phone, and it goes to someone using mixer, there will be a slight network latency, then it will pipe that audio input to the output and go back to you, and the other way around if you are using windows with mixer selected instead of microphone.

I think you should work on building trust among your friends. Then you'll be able to ask your friend and he'll answer you.

He finally talked to me he said that he doesn't use the computer, but that's bull shit.

Yes, you can prank from the computer. It is quite easy, but it has its limitations.
Before anything:
- Get a SIPPhone account http://sipphone.com/
- Get X-Lite (eyeBeam if you're looking to get a cracked version)
- You may want an IPKall number (for incoming calls) - http://ipkall.com
- Put SIPPhone information in X-Lite [or eyeBeam], and you're ready to make free toll free numbers, and receive calls to your IPKall number free.
For local businesses:
- Call 1-800-Goog-411
- Enter your City, and State
- Find the business for your victim
- You'll be transferred to them from Goog-411 (Good, since you're not paying anything and you can't make outgoing non-toll-free calls)
- Prank them, and record the phone call with that nice little button.
For residents:
- Call 1-800-COLLECT
- Uh.. you should know how to use this.

The best option would be to get an ATA (analog telephone adapter), this will allow you to use regular corded/cordless phones on your computer.
Then you just have to pick which SIP provider you want, I use Gizmo because it works with my GrandCentral number.
This setup was recommended to me by Strom, and I've only been using it for about a day, but it's really nice to be able to use an actual phone. You're not tethered to your computer.
