Title: Which VX-7 Modification?

I searched for VX-7 modifications but i don't know exactly which one to do.  Is the transmit mod? Freeband mod? and could I soft-mod it instead?

as you can tell i'm a noob at this.  I just want to understand how to work this before i go spending alot of money.

and also, are there any tutorials that will show me what i'll need to know to be able to take over a drive thru?

Do the freeband one, removing jumpers 4 and 5 then reset.  If you want to buy a programming cable, you could do the softmod.  A programming cable could be handy for programming all those memory channels but if you're just going to pop in the local drive thru frequencies I wouldn't even bother.
