Title: Lost Pussy or Scam?
Post by: SpaceBison on September 15, 2008, 03:50:37 PM
This letter was found in our door as well as everyones on our block( emphasis mine):

Quote
Last Saturday night (13 Sept.), our gray, neutered tomcat disappeared. As the weather that night was windy and wild, it is possible that he holed-up in a garage or shed and was accidentally shut in, either by a person or just by the wind. As such, we would appreciate it if you would leave all garages and sheds open (just five or six inches will do) for a few hours as soon as possible. If you have any additional information regarding this matter, please call 402-276-3559.
Thank you. We appreciate your cooperation.

Given the recent rash of burglaries and gang activity in my town, this seems like a thinly disguised attempt to gain access to my shed and steal its contents. The letter didn't even include kitty's picture or the its address. Also, I don't recall seeing a gray tomkitty around here ever. Whatcha think?

Sounds like a good robber trap if that's legal game where you live (aka Texas).

Yeah nobody likes the set gun, but if you set it up right in those places where you can kill trespassers on 'your' land, would anybody really take the time to investigate?

They could also be crazy old people. Give 'em a ring and see what happens. If not, then it's just another number on a long list of numbers to harass occasionally.
