I'm stealing this question from this Gizmodo post (http://gizmodo.com/5067151/question-of-the-day-do-you-ever-turn-off-your-cellphone). I sure never turn mine off except when rebooting it. In theaters I just turn off the ringer.

I turn mine off. Otherwise this might happen:

Never except when it dies which doesn't happen much only 3 times that I can remember.
I just put it on vibrate any place i need too
-
I was turning it off often until I disabled the GPS functionality in my phone.
-
I never turn mine on. The government can track you when its on.
-
I think up until recently the only time I ever did was to reboot it. Lately I've had to leave on the weekends for National Guard stuff and I am not allowed to bring it, so I'll turn it off so people can either figure out I'm gone or eventually call when I don't respond to their texts and realize I'm not simply ignoring them. This is a change of pace from the other 90 percent of the time when I am actually just ignoring them.
-
i'm psychotic, and can't stand to not know if i'm being called or texted. if i'm told to silence it, i just switch it to vibrate.

I just bought a new Razr (V3er) and it hasn't been turned off since I got it.

I never turn mine off. One time I did for one day and my GF turned into a psycho with large talons. Never again....
-
Only off when it's dead or when theres an outage or when I need to save battery. There's no regular phone service in the house so when there's a power outage the landline doesn't work
-
Mine is pretty much always off while I'm on campus. My phone doesn't go into "power save" when I have no service, so it'll drain in an afternoon searching for a signal while I'm at school (I spend most of my time in the basement of a large concrete building, in an insulated practice room).
Otherwise, I turn it off when I don't want to deal with people, but want them to realize I'm not ignoring them - I just don't want to deal with them.
-
Mine broke a month ago and I heard it was fixed today. I'm not sure I want it back though. I started carrying around my little TTY in my backpack so when I want to make calls I just connect via the payphone and there I go. I really like being able to make outgoing calls but not have to deal with incoming ones.
-
I don't carry a phone at all.
-
if i turn off my phone, my heart stops beating
-
In the event of a power outage, I can run a hand-crank generator or use solar power to keep it charged.

*writes this down for nefarious purposes*
I turn the phone off before I sleep (and charge too), when I go into a movie theater or when in a place were you must here people. (Conference Panels, Classrooms, ect)
Reason is that in studying the way of the phone, I am a master of form 0. Which is learning when one must use or not use a phone. Then I can master the other forms of dialing and being a dick.
-
I turned my phone off in 2007, and haven't looked back.
-
My phone is usually off. I only have it on me when I have to somewhere that isn't my day job, or on other special occasions.

I never turn my phone off, ever. If I need to have it not make noise (in class, at the movies) then I just turn the ringer off. If you ever turn your phone off, you're a nerd.
-
My phone is almost always on silent, if I notice by some off chance it's ringing, I'll answer it.

Wait. My cell phone turns OFF? WHEN DID THEY ADD THIS FEATURE?
Soon you won't be able to turn of a cell phone. The world will be like Max Headroom, and electronic devices will have no shut-off option.

Ah, but lets not forget that a well-placed bullet can shut off any electronic device.
