Quarter inch reel-to-reel tape.

Luckily there was a 3-prong plug near most of the store phones.

Hey,

You're going to have to walk around with your computer and an accoustic coupler so you can record it in mp3 format. Don't worrry. There will be plenty of plugins and stuff for your monitor and CPU.

I always keep a phonograph cylinder on me in case anything needs to be recorded.  Here is some info on them.

I just remember everything that was said during the call, so I can recite it in full whenever necessary.

why do you all have to be such assholes about this?

the easiest way to do it is to use Édouard-Léon Scott's Phonautograph.

Since the NSA records every phone in the country, I just prank call Walmart then ask my friend Green Chicken to download the call from their mainframe and burn it to a CD-R. Then he takes it to a dead drop.

Every prank call is stored some where inside NSA headquarters.

That reminds, me I have check the brown garbage can behind ACME.

Don't listen to them they're just being retarded.

The actual way to do it is carry a note pad and a pencil with you and write down everything that was said.

Oh jeeze.

A telephone pickup:

I have a TP-7 and one of the radio shack inductive things. Use the RadioShack thing with traditional phones, the TP-7 with cell phones and the like.

That plus any voice recorder of your choosing. I have a VN-4100PC that I hate because it requires special software and only records CELP+ADPCM, but it works well enough.
