I really want to do more pay phone pranks before pay phones completely disappear. Really, in another 5 years it might be impossible to find a pay phone in a suitable location that actually accepts incoming calls. Post some idea for new pranks in this thread.

I think I should actually plant something for them to find so they'll think they really won $500. And maybe make the phrase something really offensive that they won't want to say. Or something that insults them. Like, "I'm a fat cow who has never exercised a day in her life!" But get them really excited about winning. Make them shout things, do dances, etc. Maybe say, "I'll give you an extra $50 each time you scream I JUST WON $500 from KPLA as loud as you can."
Those pay phones I found in Corvallis (15 minutes from me) are perfect. They're Qwest pay phones and they ring forever without stopping to give me a computer tone. They also ring loudly. And there's plenty of parking right in front of them, where I can place my camera. I was thinking I should tell them that the message is on TOP of the phone booth and see what they'll do to try and climb on top.

Who the hell knows why this tiny shopping center need 4 pay phones. Nobody used them other than when they answered my calls.

The funniest line in that video was "You just won.. shit all over your ear". So I think you should plant something that'll get crap all over them. You could smear stuff on the underside of a shopping cart handle, or flip a milkshake upsidedown on top of the payphone and tell them the note is underneath the cup.

Actually it would be funny to put Nutella on the phone and just say to the person who answered, "Guess what? You're covered in brown gooey stuff!" They'd probably flip out if they saw the camera in my car though.

niceeeeeee! have you seen that game show in your head show? with joe rogan? you could do some things like that. raise the prize money, make crazier challenges like kiss a complete stranger. Say it’s a new canadian discovery channel show like cash cab called Payphone challenge or something, and that they are on hidden camera. you could give them like 5 minutes to find a cactus and they win $5000 dollars!

messedup.net used to be cool. Heywood wrote original stuff on it and we used to to harass Curtis Lee Jones and Jason Heckathorn and the forums were fun. It still belongs to Heywood, he just doesn't do much with it anymore. It started out as his original content with lots of porn affiliate links on the site, then the porn slowly took over the entire site.

I don't think it was actually IN Florissant. It might have been a little past there. It was filmed in 2004, so that girl is a few years older now. I always wondered about her shirt. It said PECKER on the back. What the hell was that?

A tip for those attending Shmoocom: the D.C. metrorail system still has quite a few payphones. I haven't gotten the chance to test if the accept incoming calls, but I intend to try it before Shmoocon. I'll let you know how it goes.

What are the numbers of those in Missouri (if they are still there)? Ellis Library and Memorial Union at Mizzou have payphones that will keep ringing in busy locations

Last time I drove by there, they had removed 2 of the 4 pay phones. Then I read an article in the paper that Richies was closing down last year, so the pay phones probably went away with the market.

may not necessarily be disconnected.... on my trainphones.blogspot.com blog there are many phones that i photographed and dialed the ANI number, then called the phone numbers that give a NIS recording when called.. not sure why... they just might not be accepting incoming calls...
