Title: PLA Radio Episode #11 - Customer Service Extravaganza
Post by: rbcp on August 19, 2006, 04:35:31 PM
I talk a little about a few of the jobs I've held in the past and play recordings from each of them, showing just how horrible I am with customer service.  This podcast is 20 minutes long and is about 18.5 megs.

Listen to the show - full quality (http://www.oldpeoplearefunny.com/sound/plaradio11.mp3)

Listen to the show on dialup (64kbps - 9 megs) (http://www.oldpeoplearefunny.com/sound/plaradio11_64kbps.mp3)

Listen to the show on dialup (32kbps - 5 megs) (http://www.oldpeoplearefunny.com/sound/plaradio11_32kbps.mp3)

Visit the PLA Radio archives (http://www.phonelosers.org/radio/)

For those of you who have all of phonelosers.org memorized, you're probably going to yell at me for rehashing old material because that's what I've done.  You'll hear pizza calls, hotel calls and auto parts calls.  But if you listen to enough of it you'll hear a few new things.  Quit complaining and enjoy it!

oh man, that Car fire call was the best call I've ever heard on the PLA so far. Great Job!

P.S. - You wouldn't happen to have the rest of the call available for download, would you?

Speaking of the fire call, that sounds like a new category (the car dealership)

Can you tell us a little bit more about how that went? The Pizza hut/Superstore/TEch support/auto "parts" all have seperate pages, and this sounds like e recent call, because he is inquiring about a 2006 vehicle.

I was wondering that too.

I loved it, a nice mix of old classic calls and plenty of new stuff.

But my favorite part was the part where I heard my voice on PLA-Radio! Oh my GAWD, I'm on the internetz!

Holy shit...new calls! What else you been holding out on?

This marks my new favorite PLA Radio ep. Very TTT-ish. Incoming customer service pranks calls are the absolute best.

With the incoming calls, I still don't know how you 1) think of a scheme to go with on the fly so fast and 2) not laugh your head off. Although it sounds like you couldnt hold it in anymore at 16:11 on this ep, but it sounds like they didnt hear the laughing because they were too busy freaking out My own mediocre attempt at humor has been highly amusing to myself..

This was easily the best. Eagerly looking forward to the next installment.

I'm quite curious as to how you managed to record phone calls that you took at work over all those years without looking suspicious and having the recording gear hanging around? :)

Funny episode though, the April fools joke was superb! hahahaah

Not just one person, seventeen hundred thousand. It was called the Phrolocaust. Where have you been the last decade? Obviously not in school.

lame.

So seriosuly, Brad said he heard gunshots at the front of the theater from all the co-motion he and his friend caused. Just wondering.

Btw, I think this is the best episode and prank calls I have ever heard. Great work man. You should do some more.

why don't these people get it...

They were not in a DUMPSTER!!!

sorry for the outrage, but too many people assume this.

I think peopled assumed we were in a dumpster because...I said we were in a dumpster.  Not their fault that I'm a big liar.  What's all this in the Episode #11 thread for anyway?  The movie theater calls from a dumpster was in Episode #4!

You weren't in a dumpster....? I heard your echo in there....whatever man, its still cool.
I believed you were mainly because you said you were and it was believable depending on how you were hacking into the movie theaters phone line. And plus, you didnt have that tone  in your voice where we can tell your joking or lying.

"The movie theater calls from a dumpster was in Episode #4!"

Someone hijacked my thread, just returning the favor. ;)
