Title: Interesting things i found in 716
Post by: gimpyd on August 28, 2006, 09:00:07 AM
Well i was doing some old skool wardialin when i figured i would see what exchanges are around in my area. i checked a website(forgot name) and saw many exchanges without a name, switch type, switch location, they were just there, no one knows who owns em. i was very excited with these findings so i began to dial. first on my list was 716-958. i noticed when i called 716-958-0xxx (x being any random digit) it read my number back. and it does it with every number i scanned so far. but when there is a number besides 0 like 716-958-3xxx it doesnt work. Very odd. next was 716-927. im still not sure about this one, every number i call with this nxx will ring busy. I then checked 716-311 and 716-950 to find that when i dial a number a i get a really loud playback mesage different from the ones i heard telling me the call cannot be completed and to call my operator for help.

can anyone tell me whats going on here????

You know, no one ever just war dials anymore.

  Cheers to you.

Neither of the two exchanges you've been war dialing exist. Your calls aren't even terminating. Those recordings are probably all local intercepts.

CountyKid, sure they do. I don't quite understand why people say wardialing is so "oldschool".
