What's the longest running series of movie sequels ever? Not TV shows. I thought it might be Police Academy movies since it seemed like there was a billion of those, but I guess there's only actually 7. My daughter guessed the James Bond series, but are those considered sequels? I've never seen any of them. Harry Potter will have 8 movies. Halloween has 8 or 9, but isn't the latest one considered a reboot? Friday the 13th has 9, I guess. Star Trek maybe?

i could have sworn that there were at least 10 friday the 13ths... (there are 9 in my box set, including freddy vs. jason.. but i thought there was at least one more - friday the 13 X)
looks like there was another one made in 2002 after X which would make it 11 movies if you count freddy vs jason, or 10 if you do not) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_the_13th_%28franchise%29
there have been 28 godzilla movies + 1 american version.. 2 other godzilla movies in the making for 2011 and 2012

james bond has 22 with one in production

star trek has 11, with a 12th in production

Godzilla doesn't fucking count.
Rush has 11 movies... but it seems they all have a similar plot.
Pokémon will have 13 movies pretty soon.

what disqualifies godzilla?
from what i have seen - so far it has the most sequels of any film franchise...
as for rush having 11 movies.. funny that i can not find any info about a filmography from them... you would think at least that someone would have mentioned movies, or films on the wiki page for the band...
but i would have to disqualify movies by rush as since there is no proof of these movies existence - and if they do exist they are more likely not considered sequels...

Apollo 13.

no, don't mutilate the Friday The 13th series, please.
there was 1-8, then the remake.
Freddy vs. Jason is actually a freddy movie, Jason goes to hell and Jason X are "jason" movies and almost fucked up the whole series for me, i am in denial that they exist. The TV show had nothing to do with the movie series either.
I bet it's james bond. aren't there like 52 of them? dating back to like the early or mid 1900's?

what about killer cut a 2009 friday the 13th...
as for freddy vs jason... it is in neither box set... since it is a cross over of both franchises... regardless of if people think it is more of a nightmare or friday 13th movie - it probably does not qualify as a sequel ...
and according to wiki there are only 22 james bond films..
