Post by: MegaKitsune on April 13, 2006, 03:38:02 PM
I love listening to oldsk00l tracker music, imagine my surprise when I found this:

http://audio.textfiles.com/music/telcojam.mod

That thing ROCKS!

For all you people who don't know what a *.mod file is you can download Modplud Player to play it. This was a file format for Amiga Computers (sorry spelling)...

My own mediocre attempt at humor has been highly amusing to myself., I don't know why they invented .mid files these are way better and only a little bigger. What would be cool is of someone wrote some code to make these playable as background music for websites... My own mediocre attempt at humor has been highly amusing to myself. Awesome

If you don't want to use that player for the mod files, I converted it to mp3. It is encoded at 96kbps. If you have any other phone (or any other computer related songs for that matter) that you want on here send it to my gmail at computerwiz222@gmail.com, I will encode it and post it to the forum...

I should've converted it to MP3, I forgot that this is a more MP3-friendly site, My own mediocre attempt at humor has been highly amusing to myself.. You still use ModPlug? I use a combination of XMPLAY and Winamp running the 0ldsk00l mod engine...

I don't know why they invented .MIDs either man, MIDI is only useful for controlling synthesizers. And you can have .MODs playing on the backgrounds of websites, but the people who visit your site have to have MODPlug Player IE/Netscape plugin. There's no way to do it natively, I'm afraid.

Too bad M$ came to power...I really wanted Amiga to dominate...
