Hey everyone,
Check out my new podcast called CellCast. It is a podcast that talks about the newest cell phone technologies. I am really excited to get some new listeners. The first episode is a little rough (hence the name) but I still talk about some interesting stuff. Don't forget to vote for the show. I would really like to get some more votes. I will be releasing a new episode later this week which will be much better.

Nice show! But it makes me sad because I don't own every one of the phones you decribe.
One question about your podcasting hardware - what do you need a mixer for? If you've got a USB soundcard on the way, just return the mixer. It's not like you're actually mixing things. I only purchased my mixer to make recording my phone calls easier.

I bought a mixer because in the future I want to conduct interviews with people who own phones and stuff like that. As well I have my computers line out connected to an input so I can control my voice and the computers voice. I also got a tremendous deal. A ten channel mixer for 69.99 because the 8 channel had no power supply. As well I need the preamp for my condenser mic. I will have a studio section on the site soon.

Ah, makes sense then. I thought the sound quality of the show was fine. Though the music seemed slightly distorted.

laptops have horrible mic inputs. So distortion = gone on following episodes. I also plan on recording at a higher bit rate.

I realy hope you guys like it. I am trying to go big. I want to do phone reviews for verizon, bell, rogers, fido etc. It would be nice to even get a sponsor! But I am on my first episode so I will have to wait My own mediocre attempt at humor has been highly amusing to myself....

if you want to go big, wouldnt you try the actual phone companies and not the cellular providers? just a thought.

You have the same mixer as me. Only I have the 12 channel version of it. Nice setup!
I really should get a mic like yours. I'm using a dynamic mic, which I'm told is the wrong kind to be using for podcasts.

Well there really isn't a right microphone for podcasting but condenser is better because it catches all the sound like a human ear. Dynamic microphones only collect sound from what is right in front of it. So if you move off of it to click something then it looses you. I think that behringer makes excellent mixers and microphones. The microphone I have is used but I saved 20 bucks off new and he threw in the cable because he had none in stock. So i made off okay...

Actually I'm moving this month + am looking for a whole new PC setup... I would like a decent mixer so I can do PLA music, among other things. Me also needs a new phone!
