Title: Hacking vending machinesw
Post by: wicc on December 29, 2010, 09:52:00 AM
In 1992 or so, there was this automated cafeteria that had stale sandwiches, soup dispensers, etc.  There was a soda machine that would drop a cup, fill it with ice (if you selected it), and then fill it with soda.  We discovered that if you kept holding the fill button, it would keep dropping cups and filling them.  That was great until we reached the space age and they 86ed the machine.

These machines seems extraordinarily secure considering the low value of the items in them.  There's got to be a way in them.  If squirrels can h4x my birdfeeder... (my wife was so pissed when all the birdseed was on the ground and I was yelling OMG HAX!)

Thank you for this fine aggregation of material.  It belongs in one place- and I was too stupid to even think about looking for it here.
