Title: Catch me if you can: Check Forging
Post by: Q_ on January 16, 2011, 04:06:39 PM
Hey I was reading Catch me if you can (The Bio), and was wondering, can you still forge a check? Im not going to try to use them, but is there some software that can generate checks?

At any office supply stores, you can buy pages of blank checks that you can print onto with your computer.  Software like Quicken and Quickbooks will print them for you.  If you have a company's routing/account number, you can print those onto the check.  Like maybe the routing numbers from your own paycheck.

I'm sure you can do it, but not getting caught is probably the hard part.  You would probably need a fake ID to go with your checks.

As awesome a book as that is, before trying anything you learn directly from it consider that the author (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Abagnale) has been making a very good living for the past 30+ years working for the banks and feds against people like him.
