So, I tried havinga Sprint Ip Relay op call the MCI ANI line (8004444444) and they apparently actually gave me the number for their line. If there's interest, I'll compile a list of these. Could be fun to (VoIP/Beige Box/Relay) a call to a relay op, i'll bet they'd be a bit surprised to have their own line ring. This could make for fun phone mobbing too.

Please continue to replace an "F" with a "PH" whenever possible.

I called with a phew diphpherent relay services, it's always been busy, which makes sense. I'm phairly sure it will go through iph you can catch an op when they're not being harrassed.
-
note: i've tried many many times now. always busy. another that i got phrom At&T gave a message that said the number i had dialed, (a similar #, but not the one i called) had been changed to an unpublished one.

Possibly DODs (direct outward dials, one-way trunks)?

That's what i'm guessing. 800-444-4444 reads out the CID. If the CID is blocked or non-existant then it reads out the ANI. It could be a DOD number or just the BTN for that call center.
-
They may indeed by one-way trunks, but the MCI ANI line in question really does read off the ANI, not the CID.

Uh, dude, are you talking about 800-444-4444? If you are then, like I just said before, it reads out CID and if the CID is blocked or non-existant then, and only then, does it read out ANI. Don't believe me? Have a friend forward their landline to 800-444-4444. Call your friend with your phone without blocking caller id. Your CID will be read out by the MCI ANAC. Now call your friend while blocking your own caller ID. The MCI ANAC will now read off your friend's phone number due to the fact that when you forward somebody's call the callgoing out from you gets the caller's CID but your ANI.

Alright I'll beleive you. Anyway it seems MCI changed how that number works yesterday, as now does not read out anything, just asks you to enter a number.
-
It just worked fine for me. Did you dial it straight or did you try to block CID?

Nah, if he blocked CID then it would just read out the ANI. Sounds like he ANI failed to it.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I was guessing that he was going to say yes, and then I was going to ask him what he did and he was going to tell me some method that involved op diverting that caused the ANI fail. Of course I was going to spring it all on him at once, but you ruined the element of surprise for me. Now everyone expects the Spanish INquisition.

Nobody expects the spanish inquisition. Their chief weapon is surprise, fear and surprise.

I called it with relay. I know that doing this at least reads back something (or rather it did). But now it doesn't.
