Post by: WeeBo on November 15, 2011, 12:19:17 PM
So I did a scan of a few numbers in my area.  Only a few came up interesting,
I dialled into one with hyperterm, all goes well, I get connected,. send a break
than this spews out
Code: [Select]
???????????????????? PE
>
Most times when I type anything it comes up gibberish, only the number keys seem to mapped correctly.
At one opportunity I actually could type clearly for a second when i send the command
login I received
> LOGIN OK
than went back to gibberish
and I receive
> (gibberish back) UC

anyone have any idea whats going on?  terminal is set to VT100 9600 baud, 8-1.  perhaps VT200 is needed alas I don't have a VT200 terminal emulator.

Thanks in advance for any input

I hesitate to suggest the obvious, but have you tried different settings? 8N1 isn't the only encoding option.
