has anyone seen those commercials for that new device that lets you do phone calls from anywhere, without a internet connection?
its like a little box you plug a phone into and it costs $29 a year.. i think it said its 3G/4G and its called net something (i think)
i can't remember the name and can't find any info, and wanted to look into it
seems like a good deal if it works well

That's a pretty awesome deal. I'd replace my MagicJack with that if it's really that cheap, just for my home phones to still work if the power/internet dies.
OR imagine this - a red land line wall phone IN YOUR CAR. That would be amazing. I'd pay $29/year for that. Though I don't believe the $29/year price until you prove it to me.

only thing that comes to mind net something that is voip and costs about $30/yr would be nettalk... but that requires a LAN connection...
-
nope, saw them in my searches and that's not it..
hopefully i will see the commercial again.. it was on late night on the science channel. i don't watch a lot of tv but i guess i may have to make an exception

I'm starting to wonder if this was some kind of super realistic dream I had while watching TV in bed. I've done several internet searches on key phrases I remember from the commercial and I have a hard time believing that nothing would come up..
Its crazy because I remember watching the commercial and thinking, "remember to look into this, looks like a good deal"

My hopes were all up! It does seem too good to be true though.

only cellular box from a provider that you can connect to a home phone that i am aware of would be the verizon home phone connect http://www.verizonwireless.com/verizon-home-phone-connect.shtml
which is $20/mo

finally saw the commercial again and turns out it was nettalk
its called the nettalk duo:

Although the advertisement is a bit vague when it says "no computer required" and that it uses 3G to make calls.. the 3G only applies to the smart phone apps and there's no computer required, but still requires a modem/router to connect. Still not a terrible deal, $30/year for unlimited calling in US/Canada
