No, didn't you think that she was bluffing maybe??

I hardly think that you can pick up that from a regular ID

Post by: MattGSX on November 24, 2006, 12:51:26 AM: Did you configure your CID settings to display something OTHER than that screen name? What does it display by default? Is this a new anti-fraud measure to help cut down on harassment of services?

I'm not too familiar with Skype, so forgive me if that's not a possibility.

You should try calling other people with CID. Try both land lines and cell phones and check your results. Get carriers for the different phones you call so you can find out if it's a carrier specific thing, or just because you never set up a number to "call from".

Post your findings. It could be fun.

we need someone with AT&T/SBC service to try this. SBC was the first company to get access to the T-Mobile CNAM database. Maybe Skype set-up their own CNAM database.

Hmmm... it could also be some other stuff.

Fortunately i use random names and throw away accounts on Skype in order to re-use the free credit.
