Skypecast

I downloaded the latest version of skype, 3.0 I think, and it has a new feature called "Skypecasts." they are just live voice chat rooms that i'm pretty sure anyone can set up for free, and call in on skype. Most of them right now are on strange topics, such as why burger king needs to start selling funny hats. I think we should start a PLA skypecast, so you can talk to other PLA'ers with out having to get a skype out subscription. Anyone interested?

I like the idea of Skypecast conferences.  But I don't think it could replace the voice bridge yet.  I'd hate to cut off all the people that call in via telephone.  It sure would be nice to have moderators to kick out annoying people, though.  And it sucks that a Skypecast can only last 5 hours at a time.  There are so many pros and cons between the two formats.

I could list a Skypecast along with the voice bridge every night if anyone wants to try and set one up.  It would display automatically every evening on phonelosers.org.  But since the rooms aren't permanent, I guess I can't link directly to them.  How else could I do it?  Just tell people to search for "cactus" or something?  Tell me how I should do it and I'll set it up.

first, I would make a skype directory on the side of everyone's skypeID, once everyone that wants to is added as a friend, you can see if anyone else is online, and chat to set up a skypecast. I didn't realize they ended after 5 hours, sucks... It could be a weekend only thing, so you wouldn't have to go linking to it every night.

Maybe I could just make a thing that says to call Raptor to join the conference every night.

i'm not sure if I could do it every night, but I'd be happy to host it when i'm available and happy to take skype calls when i'm online.

Bollocks, after a couple of Flames I think that Raptor is a cool guy (I do).

BTW Rap, what yar doing is great, please let me know when it happens, will be a chance to interact with you since the distance won't be a problem...
