Dialing 0 from a Cell Phone
« on: August 15, 2007, 05:39:49 AM »
I just dialed 0 from my T-Mobile phone to see what would happen. The first time I did it, the call was connected to Verizon operators and the second time I was connected to an AT&T operator. Is this normal from a cell phone? I did not expect dialing 0 to get me anywhere.

When I do it, a lady in a very loud, nasal voice says, "Number please!"

I guess the most interesting part of it is that I connect to different companies at different times while connected to the same tower. Probably nothing exceptional, I just find it interesting.

Sprint/Nextel result: "We're sorry, your call cannot be completed as dialed..."

AT&T result: "Welcome to Verizon, your broadband company..." (or same result as dialing "0" from a land line in my area)

I didn't dial the wrong number, you picked up the wrong phone.

Verizon Wireless: "Welcome to Verizon Wireless. We're sorry, your call cannot be completed as dialed..."

Cincinnati Bell Wireless: Got a selection board (Emergency, line repair, questions about account, to speak to an operator).
