Nintendo DS = box of rocks

When I read this story, it reminded me of a story in a PLA issue about buying modems from Walmart, taking out the insides, restuffing with crushed soda cans and return for a refund.

Rocks in box

That happens pretty often.  I'm always reading similar stories on The Consumerist.  Best Buy is really bad about telling customers "tough shit" when this happens to them.

I wonder what EB Games does about it or GameStop (same thing)

Anyone have any stories to share with us?

It's harder to do it with them seeing as they pretty much tear the whole thing open to make sure everything is in place before you return anything. Had a brief stint working for 3 months over at GameStop. Best Buy just likes to make sure you have the receipt; Wal*Mart as well.

There's a new one from today.  Guy buys a Macbook and finds a slab of concrete inside the box instead.  That's gotta be disappointing.
