Scanners and things of that nature

I'm just starting to get into the pranking scene. One of the only things my small kentucky town has a lot of is fastfood. I was wonding if you guys could recoment some good low price starting out scanners and things of thise nature. The 2-way radio i have got old fast on the highway.

Do you just want to listen to the fast food drive thrus or do you want to talk to them too?  Scanners only receive.  If you want to talk to them, you're going to need a two way radio of some sort.
