We should use 712-432-3524, Room 752.

What I hate about that line is that if there are zero people in the room, you have to listen to horrible hold music until someone comes on.  On our older lines, it was complete silence until someone else came in.  For me, having to listen to that music is kind of unbearable.

Yeah.

One of us is just going to have to set up a PBX with Asterisk or something.

I HATE the bridge.

Anyone used Trixbox? I've heard good things. We really need to get something together. It's hilarious that a phone based technology group, in 2011, doesn't have our own PBX. I count myself out of this because anything I piece together will be horribly shitty and borderline (or completely) unusable.
But do you have ample parking? That is the question.

In the past, PBX things set up by us would start to sound shitty after so many people called into it at once because of bandwidth restrictions.  I guess with today's bandwidth being so much higher for everyone, maybe that would be as much of a problem now.

A couple years ago I had Trixbox running on a machine at my house, but it kept crashing every day and I was too stupid to figure out why, so I just gave up on it.  I really wanted to set up a PBX just to make some fun menus and games.  Maybe I'll give it a try again one of these days.

The tinychat bridge has been working out good as far as I can tell.  There's no phone access, but nobody ever leaves their computer so that's okay.  I could list this new 712 number as an alternative to tinychat for people who hate tinychat.
