So who remembers GEOS?
« on: January 04, 2008, 01:28:38 PM »
I was looking on Ebay today and saw that someone put their geobook up for auction. I kind of wish I wasn't broke so I could bid for it.

Has anyone used the Geos operating system or really remember it? I can't think of any other devices that it was really used on, but it was a pretty revolutionary system, when you think about it. I want to get a geobook or another system I can run GEOS on as a replacement for my desktop at home. It's kind of like the hardcore following around old Macs and their ability to perform so well.

Speaking of the metro, I chuckle whenever I see the convertible version.

BTW, that car was the Vic-20, looks flash on the outside but no room for a spunk filled cleenex.

And on the subject I do remember GEOS and I still have it and the hardware to run it if I so choose.  Now for trivia question #2, Who did their phreaking from geoterm?

I too remember GEOS, still have it and my Commdore stuff around.  My favourite 64 thing was the 1660 modem with its audio in to have the computer generate DTMF tones for dialling, which could be used for other tones as well.  Wink Wink Nudge Nudge Say no more Say no more

Yeah, in my retrocomputing nerdiness i know what GEOS is, and that it was released for both the Apple II and C64, and was bundled with...Either a later gen C64 or the C128. either way, it was GUI goodness on 64k RAM. it really sucks that i don't have a C64 in my collection yet.
