How to hack drive-thru frequencies

Hey guys, I've been looking everywhere, I've watched pretty much all of the pla/ rbcp (Or whatever the hell) videos, and I've loved the drive thru hacking. I almost bought the toaster and used the crystal, but then I saw a comment and reply on a youtube video, stating that it was a joke. And that the reply confirmed it.

I would love to actualy be able to do this, is there anyone who can actualy help me out by telling me or sending me a video?

Otherwise, I have access to quiet a few drive-thru headsets by friends/ employees who work there, and some people told me that I could "Boost" The signal thru a sattellite dish. Now I don't know if that's possible , but my step dad is a contractor for Bell Express-vu,. so I have a mountain of dishes.

Can somebody help me out on hacknig a drive thru signal, or notify me if it's possible to boost a signal on one of the drive-thru headsets?

Concerning hijacking the drive-thru: you won't get any help here. Pulling off something like that isn't a party trick--the people who did it and the other pranks on this site spent years learning to get to that point. You won't walk into a ski resort on your first day of skiing and say 'hey teach me how to do that awesome backflip triple twirl whirl yahoo'. Do you know how radios work, how the drive-thru and headsets broadcast? Do you have any interest in learning their mechanics, or just a yearning to post a duplicate of the PLA prank on Youtube? People here will help you learn, they will not help you impress your friends.

Nope, no intention to spend hours reading a guide, or how the radios actualy work. and I personally wouldn't tell anyone about this, I don't really want things to go around having everybody acting up or asking me how to do such.

The easiest way to mod those is to take the crystal out of a toaster and install it into the radio. Takes about 5-10 minutes to do.

Wait, i read some of the mods and all you have to do to get the radio to go into the right freq range is press a few buttons? THat doesn't sound quite right!

Usually it involves desodering in a fairly obvious place to but the transmit mode inline with the Japanese spec. This was done  so that a fully featured product could be sold in the US and Japan and have it be fairly trivial to make the same radio legal for sale in both places.
