Recording calls from a payphone
« on: January 15, 2012, 06:41:35 PM »
I have some ideas for some prank calls, and I want to record them and upload them here. I prefer the anonymity of payphones, because even though my planned pranks aren't particularly bad or damaging in nature, it's always better safe than sorry. So where can a Induction Coil Mic be obtained these days?

Here is an awesome mic for that.  It goes in your ear and records anything you put up to that ear.  Works just like the old suction cup microphone, without the suction cup.

http://www.phonelosers.org/article/recording_telephone_calls/ might have other options.  My link to the suction cup microphone seems to be dead now, so I guess Radio Shack doesn't sell those anymore.

I can vouch for the Olympus TP-7 earbud mic.. Works great and the sound quality is pretty good. I've tried other options for using a recorder with phone calls and this was definitely the best quality/easiest

Of course, you'll need a recorder also
