I receive ads on daily basis here and I still paying the phone, so let them do it!
But ADSL was supposed to be for free as well and we are all paying it, aren't we??

id be sooo down with that...even if it's not completely free...It beats what im paying now. My phone bills are outrageous.

They tried this with free phone calls a few years ago.  You'd have to listen to a short commercial before it'd put your call through.  It was nice, but it didn't last very long.  Netzero (free internet) sure has lasted a long time, though.  Maybe it's possible with cell service too.

Anyone ever use 1-800-FREE-411?  It's all ad-based and works just as well as dialing 411 from your cell.  And much faster than txing your 411 requests to GOOGL.

I have used FREE-411, but I don't have a use for a 411 service so....

I used to have free Juno Dial-up a long way back. On a 15" screen, 1/3 was navigation buttons, 1/3 was advertisements, leaves 1/3 to view squat.
