iv always been down with the beige box and TNI's on the side of peoples houses but I never decided to hit one of those big cans until recently my problem being i'v never encountered those special little bolts or what not and have no clue where to buy them...they cant be illegal to own so I wonder who sells them...and yes I googled them yet I don't know what they would be called so I'm not sure exactly what to Google...if anyone could help me out that would be peachy

Go into your toolbox and find all the pairs of pliers you have. Chances are, one of them will work very well in place of a wrench. My friend and I have never even tried using a wrench, and we've never failed to get into a can.

Try to get a pair that is less than 3/4" wide at the nose, and can easily open 1". You won't have any troubles.

Unless you're trying to get into the concentrators with padlocks. Then just give up.

No its just an allen wrench.  Im not sure the size but if you get a kit it should fit.

Damn, I thought this thread was titled, "telco wenches."  I was hoping for some hot bitches in lineman outfits.

They don't have a closeup of the end of it.  Can't you just use a regular socket wrench for those?  Or are you talking about the things that look like an allen wrench but with the little hole on the ends of them?  I forget what those are called.  But if you look at the tool department of a hardware store or maybe an Auto Zone, you'll probably find one.

it's not a allen wrench...I'v got a few of those...I just used a die grinder to hollow mine out...i'll have to try using just plain pilers (dident even think about that)

and yea that might work to...I googled the 3/8 hex socket and it gave me a view of the ends...it looks to fit...so that's my backup plan if I don't have any pliers that I can get to work...

thank god for this forum...I tried using jinx forums and yea, they deleted my post...bastard's...but anywhos...much thanks to everyone who contributed

The Bell Canada TNIs around here have 3/8 bolts, and me with no hex driver. Needle nose pliers will do almost any kind of polygonal bolt as long as you squeeze really hard.

After reading the story of the kids that got a payphone off it's base with a tire iron, I've wanted to experiment with my tire iron and see what other lugs/bolts it can remove. I know that isn't quite related, but I thought it was worth saying, as it's SORTA connected.

You could always beige a call from a different neighborhood and call the phone co complaining about a problem with the telco box about lines getting crossed or something. If you call enough times, they may send someone to investigate, and then you could either see the wrench or just steal it from the lineman.

Just steal it from the lineman just make sure you have your tire wrench on hand and sneak up behind him  ;D and there you go everything a phreak could want if you raid the truck while hes out cold make sure to take your time to clean the truck out then post all findings
