New bluebox recording
« on: July 22, 2007, 01:31:28 AM »
I just blueboxed a call on a ProjectMF system, and got to talk to someone, even if they couldn't hear me... http://h1.ripway.com/MadManMarkAu/bbox2.mp3

hahaha those wink backs sound like bells rather than chirps.  Wow, thats neat.  you should try it here, cos it's like - not a simulation. 907.295.9997

Thanks. The system I boxed to is still being tweaked, and yeah, those wink-backs have a clean bell-style fadeout. They should be straight tones, not curved fades. I'll discuss it with him tomorrow.

The tone on that youtube vid sounds horrible. There is no way 2600 tones need to be that loud. All that is needed is a relatively low noise area and a soft tone, not an ear-splitting screech.

Great video, tho. Glad to see there's still some boxable switches out there.

Speaking of which, is boxing illegal? Or is it just toll fraud that's illegal? I think boxing is legal, as long as no chargeable calls are made. Correct me on this.

EDIT: Added legality question.

yeah, it can only sieze, and like i said the battery was dead, so i couldnt just simply tune it to 2600 like i usually do.  I have to tune it above and let it fall passed 2600 as the potential decreases.. i need to make a wall charger for it.  Also, i think just grabbing it, is not illegal, but resending it would be if there were no supervision.  If you do this from your house phone it would supervise and you would be charged for the call anyways. so no.  its almost equivalent to hitting the flash button, except you stay there, you dont go back to 127.0.0.1 - trev.

Quick, does anybody know of a free non-crippled DVD ripper? I've got my project MF DVD right here and am ready to go.
